About Browning Reptiles

How did Browning Reptiles come to exist?
Our Story
Browning Reptiles began the same way many reptile journeys do—with curiosity, excitement, and one very special first pet.
Like many families, we started small. One day, we brought home our very first reptile—a Bearded Dragon. It didn’t take long before fascination turned into passion. One reptile became two… two became five… five became nine… and, well, you can imagine the rest. Today, our growing family includes approximately 50 reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates, each with their own unique personality and story.
As our collection expanded, so did our commitment to learning. We immersed ourselves in husbandry, behavior, and proper care through hands-on experience, online resources, and self-directed education. Over time, friends, family, and our community began turning to us for guidance. What started as a personal passion naturally evolved into something bigger—Browning Reptiles was born.
A key part of our foundation is a commitment to credible, accurate education. Sarah is a certified Master Herpetologist, and this additional certification helps ensure that the information we provide is reliable, responsible, and rooted in sound practices. This combination of formal knowledge and real-world experience allows us to confidently educate others on proper exotic animal care.
As our work grew, so did our awareness of how many reptiles and amphibians are in need of help. We began taking in animals that were neglected, surrendered, or in need of specialized care—providing them with the attention, rehabilitation, and proper environments they require to recover. Rescue and rehabilitation quickly became a core part of our mission. Some of the animals you meet through Browning Reptiles are, in fact, rescues or surrenders, each with their own story of resilience.
If you have an animal that requires rehoming, we encourage you to reach out. When possible, we will work to provide a safe transition, and for animals needing special care, we are committed to ensuring they receive the support they need. For those that cannot be rehomed, we offer a safe, permanent sanctuary.
With knowledge comes responsibility. Owning any animal is a significant commitment, and proper research is essential before bringing a new pet into your home. We strongly encourage prospective owners to ask questions, seek guidance, and fully understand the needs of the species they are considering.
If you have questions about reptiles or exotic animals, we are always here to help. Whether it’s guidance on care, behavior, or proper setup, we are happy to share our knowledge or connect you with trusted resources to ensure both you and your animal succeed.
We know that not everyone immediately sees the beauty in reptiles and other exotics. Some may find them strange, intimidating, or even frightening. But in our experience, those feelings often come from the unfamiliar. When people are given the opportunity to see these animals up close, to learn about them, and to interact in a safe and respectful way, fear often turns into fascination.
That belief is at the heart of everything we do.
At Browning Reptiles, our goal is simple: to share our passion with everyone. Through education, community outreach, rescue, and hands-on experiences, we aim to introduce people of all ages to the incredible world of exotic animals—helping them discover what makes these creatures so unique, valuable, and worthy of appreciation.
